End of year closure

The University will undertake an extended closure period from close of business (COB) on Thursday 17 December 2020 to 9 am Monday 11 January 2021.

While much of the University will be closed, we are trying to minimise the impact of this on our students. The University will be attempting to complete all regular activities before COB on Thursday 17 December, however a number of activities will continue over the closedown.

  • Results and grades

In the instance where a grade is not available by 17 December, a Result Pending (RP) grade will be entered.  The use of a RP grade is an existing process used during marking and is not a final grade.  Most RP grades will be finalised and visible in Access Adelaide from 11 January 2021.

  • Conferral and graduation

Semester 2 2020 conferrals will continue to be processed as published. Our aim is to ensure all students eligible to graduate are conferred.  In the instance where a completion cannot occur, e.g. due to pending results or an assessment extension, an opportunity to be conferred in the Summer Conferral period will be available as normal. Please follow the advice on the Graduating from Adelaide page.

  • Enrolments

Enrolment for 2021 will have staggered open times from Wednesday 2 December 2020.  Students are encouraged to enrol in December or when the University re-opens in January.  Enrolment advice sessions and Program Adviser appointments will be available in December and from mid-January 2021.

  • Admissions

We will continue to assess applications, release offers and process international acceptances during the closure period.

  • General enquiries

Ask Adelaide will be available via chat (10 am to 3.45 pm) and email enquiries during the closure period except for 25 December 2020 to 4 January 2021. Ask Adelaide will re-open full phone and face-to-face services in Hub Central from 11 January 2021.

  • Facilities

The following facilities will be open for students:

    • Hub Central will be open on all days except public holidays, via swipe access
    • Fix Lounge and the Mature Students lounge will be open
    • Some areas in Union House including the prayer room will be open
    • Gym at North Terrace and Roseworthy will be open except for public holidays

Further information will also be available here.

  • Wellbeing support

24 hour per day support will be available for students experiencing personal issues or crisis during the closedown through the University Crisis Line.
