MDIA 1012 - Game Art I

This course provides an introduction to the field of 3D modelling, texturing for interactive game media. Students are taught the practical and theoretical aspects of the software manipulation process and file development processes, so they understand where computer generated imagery fits in to the workflow of a production. In addition, it introduces the art skills required to design and develop 3D models and textures for a variety of genres that utilise interactive digital technology. This course puts particular emphasis on modelling and texturing. Students work with software such as Maya and Photoshop. It provides an entry point for Level II and III courses in Game Art.
