MACA Policy changes
The Modified Arrangements for Coursework Assessment (MACA) Policy supports students when circumstances arise that significantly impair their performance, preparation, or attendance in an exam or impact their capacity to demonstrate their true level of competency in an assessment.
A modified arrangement could be:
- An extension
- A replacement exam
- Additional assessment
Students may need to apply for a modified arrangement due to the following circumstances:
- Medical
- Compassionate
- Extenuating
What is changing
As of 1 July 2023, the temporary changes introduced to the MACA Policy as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic will be removed.
This means that students are no longer able to submit a personal statement with a signed declaration in lieu of a medical/health certificate for Medical Circumstances (Procedure 6f), or in lieu of written evidence from a person or authority for Compassionate and/or Extenuating Circumstances (Procedure 6g).
For more information, please refer to the MACA Policy.
