Paid and volunteering opportunities for 2026 Orientation

Help new students feel welcome at Adelaide University. Applications are now open for Orientation Leaders and Volunteers.

These opportunities support the development of your leadership skills, expand your network, and make a real difference to students settling into university life.

Orientation Leaders (casual paid role)

Do you have experience in public speaking, or are you comfortable speaking in front of groups? The Student Connections team is seeking Orientation leaders to help organise and welcome students during peak Orientation periods throughout the year.

The Orientation Leader plays a key role in delivering an engaging, professional, and seamless welcome experience for commencing students. This role involves acting as MC for program welcome sessions, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth handovers to Peer Connect Guides.

Orientation Volunteers

Want to be a friendly face to welcome all new students? Then being an orientation volunteer is for you.

Orientation Volunteers play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for new students as they begin their university journey. Volunteers assist with event set-up and pack-down, provide guidance to help students navigate campus, and contribute to a positive first impression by being a friendly and approachable presence on campus.

To be eligible for the role, you must have completed a minimum of 12 months of study at the University of South Australia or the University of Adelaide.
