'Home' sound installation
Date/Time: Tuesday, 3 October 2017 - Sunday, 15 October 2017, all day
Location: Goodman Lawns, North Terrace Campus
Cost: FREE

The Confucius Institute and Adelaide Festival Centre present the 'Home' sound installation by one of Hong Kong's most exciting artists, GayBird Leung. Exclusively for Adelaide, Leung has developed a large-scale artwork that will spread across the Goodman Lawns for audiences to explore from Tuesday, 3 October to Sunday, 15 October 2017.
This art installation consists of sculptures representing a literal interpretation of the Chinese character for home (家) - a pig under a roof. As you move through the installation during the day, the sculptures are complimented by playful sounds. At night, the sculptures emit a brilliant white light. This creates a stunning landscape on an iconic Adelaide location, evoking Chinese traditional and contemporary ideas of home and family.
This special outdoor art installation has been commissioned by the Confucius Institute at The University of Adelaide with assistance from the Art Gallery of South Australia and Adelaide Festival Centre to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Confucius Institute in Adelaide.
This event is part of the OzAsia Festival.

"Enlarge! Enliven! Enlighten!"
Miss Lettice Douffet is an enthusiastic (or some might say eccentric) tour guide at Fustian House, one of the dullest stately homes in Wiltshire. To brighten her tours, she embellishes the history of the house reinventing the truth to such an extent that her flights of fancy almost rival its flight of stairs and certainly raise the concerns of The Preservation Trust. Enter Miss Lotte Schoen, who is tasked with bringing her back down to earth.
Seemingly polar opposite women, when they discover they have a shared passion for history, particularly re-enacting the deaths of famous women, an unlikely friendship develops. With Lettice bringing her late mother's theatrical flair and family motto to everything she does, could it be that, like adding the herb lovage to enhance bland flavours, she could have the same effect on Miss Schoen?
Chalk and cheese. Oil and water. Lettice and Lovage.
Written by the playwright of Amadeus, Equus and Royal Hunt of the Sun, Lettice & Lovage is both hilarious and touching and is guaranteed to make you laugh!
Cast: Anita Canala, Sharon Malujlo, Jack Robins and Tracey Walker

Dale Barltrop - Violin
Kristian Chong - Piano
Mozart Sonata in E minor K.304
Corigliano Sonata for Violin and Piano
The elegant purity of Mozart’s beloved E minor sonata contrasts adventurously with John Corigliano’s 1963 work, virtuosic, energetic and lyrical. The first violinist of the ASQ, Dale Barltrop, and Australian concert pianist Kristian Chong blend their skills to bring us a vivid vision of both Old-World and New-World colours.
