About Marni Wingku
Marni Wingku will be held on Tuesday, 19 September 2017. This year's activities are hosted by the following disciplines: Law, I.T & Engineering, Oral Health, Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music (CASM), Media and Science.
Previously, students were limited to attending activities with their schools, however this year we are encouraging students to follow their passions, interests and career aspirations when signing up for activities.
Activities will be hosted by University of Adelaide academic and professional staff, with third year pre-service teachers assisting students in their activities. Below is an outline of the activities available.
IT & Engineering
Coding 101: Students will undertake an introduction to coding using the latest software.
Build It: Top secret design activity awaiting clearance to disclose. More details to come.
All About Teeth: Students will explore the world of teeth! The impacts of sugar on oral health and make moulds of their teeth to keep.
Student Congress: Our Aboriginal business is none of the Law’s business.
Record-it: In our newly refurbished music studio, students will experience a rehearsal and recording environment that will foster a creative and collaborative musical product.
Mix & Produce it: In our Popular Music and Creative Technologies Suite, students will experience hands on music software used for games, film, interactive design and computer music composition.
Reporters: Selected students will be promoted to our official reporters for the day. Students will be trained by professionals before being let loose.
On the Socials: Working with social media gurus, students will workshop to create, establish and promote their awesome profile.
Slice and Stain: Using the latest scientific techniques, students will be immersed in the atomic world of plants.
Buried Treasure: Uncover what lies beneath your feet using geophysics techniques and equipment, can you find the treasure?
