Marni Wingku is an immersive on-campus program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students, run by Wirltu Yarlu Aboriginal Education at the University of Adelaide.

In 2024 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 9 to 12, from South Australia, will have the opportunity to participate in Marni Wingku.

Both students and teachers will participate in innovative, enquiry-based workshops from a range of University disciplines. These workshops are specifically designed to reinforce to students that university is a realistic goal that will enrich their lives; and empower within them the confidence and direction to pursue their ongoing education and career aspirations.

Participation is free to all students and school staff, with meals provided.

Opportunities for rural and remote students in South Australia

As accessibility to participate in on-campus activities is very challenging for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from regional and rural schools, Wirltu Yarlu are able to assist with transport as needed. Please get in contact with the team for more information.

The second program of the year has been tailored to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Year 9 and 10. Students are invited to register below today!

Students in years 9 to 12 will participate in innovative, inquiry-based workshops from a range of disciplines. The workshops will build participant confidence and creativity, inspire and enrich their attitudes towards learning; empowering their passion to achieve their career aspirations.
