Wirltu Yarlu Academic Mentoring Program
The Wirltu Yarlu Academic Mentoring Program, previously known as ITAS, forms part of the Wirltu Yarlu Student Success Strategy.
This is a tailored tutorial program that provides opportunities for mentoring and extra tuition at no cost for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled at the University of Adelaide.
Mentors can help with:
- Planning study workloads
- Understanding assignments and essay questions
- Effective study skills
- Research skills
- Time management
- Exam Preparation
Students in their first year of tertiary study are especially encouraged to make use of this service, although it is available to all Indigenous students at any level.
Mentoring sessions can be either one-on-one, or in a group made up of students studying the same program. Assistance is tailored to meet the particular needs of the student or group of students,
The Wirltu Yarlu Academic Mentoring Program is part of the Commonwealth’s Indigenous Student Success Programme (ISSP) . There is no cost to the students for this service.
