Tuesday, 31 January 2006 Tertiary student artists are invited to enter a visual art competition being held in conjunction with the Association of Commonwealth Universities Conference of Executive Heads. The Association of Commonwealth Universities Conference is being hosted by the University of Adelaide in April 2006. The closing date for entries has just been extended to Friday 10 February 2006. The competition gives tertiary student artists the opportunity to create a work of art reflecting the personal or cultural complexities of life in Australia or New Zealand. First prize is $5000, awarded by the Association of Commonwealth Universities, with a second prize of $3000, awarded by the University of Adelaide. The competition is open to all students of universities that are members of the ACU within Australia and New Zealand. Selected works will be placed in the exhibition A Place in the World in Adelaide during the ACU conference in April 2006. Entries (images on CD only) must be received by Mirna Heruc at the University of Adelaide by close of business on Friday 10 February 2006.
