AI bootcamps: February 2026

Register your interest in Intersect's South Australian AI bootcamp starting February 2026. These bootcamps are intensive programs designed to equip researchers with cutting-edge AI skills, comprised of four specialised modules: Generative AI & Large Language Models; Machine Learning Operations (MLOps); Computer Vision; and Reinforcement Learning. Each bootcamp consists of five full days of hands-on training, led by research data scientists and AI experts, over seven weeks. Writing confidence for PhD students

Many students finish their PhDs doubting their writing abilities, often because feedback has been rushed, overly critical or simply a rewrite of their work. How to support someone who has experienced sexual harm

This workshop will provide a brief overview of best practice responses to disclosures of sexual harm. It includes definitions and relevant local legislation, information about reporting and support options, university processes and staff obligations. Strategies for supporting engagement and communication

In this workshop, participants will explore inclusive strategies to support quiet students who may be disadvantaged by verbal assessments. We’ll discuss alternative ways for students to demonstrate understanding without relying solely on verbal participation. Using tools like Mentimeter, Miro, H5P, and creative analogue games, participants will engage in hands-on activities that help recognise diverse forms of engagement. Bioinformatics Workshops

The Australian Bioinformatics And Computational Biology Society (ABACBS) are holding their annual conference in Adelaide this year. Following the main conference, a series of bioinformatics workshops will be held with local researchers welcome to attend. Workshops will cover topics such as Using Long Read Technology (Oxford Nanopore), Metagenomics and Microbiome Analysis, Using Agentic AI, Spatial Transcriptomics along with many other offerings.
