IPAS Students Sweep the 3 Minute Thesis Final at the University of Adelaide
The University of Adelaide hosted an inspiring 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition Final, where postgraduate students showcased their ability to communicate complex research in just three minutes.
This year, IPAS students delivered a standout performance:
-
Gerardo Urbina – Targeting Superbug DNA with the Power of Computer Simulations
-
Ané Kritzinger – Shining Light Behind the Bottle: from Fraud to Fatality
-
Sachin Kumar – What if your thoughts could glow?
The results were a clean sweep for IPAS. Ané Kritzinger was awarded both the University Winner and People’s Choice Award, while Sachin Kumar secured the Runner-Up position. Their success highlights not only the strength of IPAS research but also the importance of clear and engaging science communication.
The competition also celebrated excellent presentations from across the University, including Ranjiani Ragotham, Danielle Bailey, Sreshtha Malik, Katelyn Crawford, Cate Cheney, Gülşah Yıldırım Kırbacı, and Anilet Nadkarni.
A special thank you goes to the judging panel: A/Prof Richard Young, Dr Lukas Gerstweiler, Dr Kate Sansome, Dr Doreen Krumbiegel, and Prof Laura Parry – and to the Adelaide Graduate Research School, Graduate Research Centre, and Research Tuesdays for hosting such a vibrant event. The evening was expertly guided by MC Mabel Day.
IPAS congratulates all participants and wishes Ané Kritzinger the very best as she heads to the Asia-Pacific Final.
