ThincHer builds the networks and knowledge required by women to build a sustainable, growth oriented business.

Students work on developing a real business, the course is housed within Business Incubator Immersion - ENTREP 2055

    The Course

The course underpinning ThincHER provides lectures, workshops, and hands-on real-world business experience for students. Students start and operate a “Chapter” of ThincHER in the form of a real hands-on start up business. The course is delivered over one Semester. At the end of each Semester, the existing students hand over the operations of the business to the new incoming students at the start of the following Semester. The new students then work on developing the business further under the watchful eye of a course coordinator and business mentors. This is a real-world experience for students where they are responsible for the sustainability and success of the business. What students learn in the classroom during the course, they can apply immediately to the business.

    Examples of course modules include:

    • Entrepreneurial startup strategies
    • Rapid prototyping and testing
    • Venture financing
    • Legal aspects for business
    • Market sizing and price optimisation
    • Budgeting and managing cashflow
    • ThincHer, a community for women with great ideas who want to build business skills and create social change. ThincLab recognises intersectionality and accepts non-binary and all people identifying as women in ThincHer.
