Unmet need for aged care advocacy services in South Australia

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety reported one of the best ways of safeguarding older people is to make sure that ‘their voices are heard and their preferences acknowledged’. Advocacy services play an essential role in ensuring this occurs. The Royal Commission Final Report Recommendation 106 outlined the need for enhanced aged care advocacy services. Utilising both qualitative and quantitative research methods this study will provide an understanding of the current un meet need and future demand for aged care advocacy services in South Australia.
