2025 AIP/IPAS Physics Careers Fair Connects Students with Industry

The 2025 AIP/IPAS Physics Careers Fair took place on Thursday 8 May at the University of Adelaide, bringing together over 70 students and recent graduates with employers across the physics and broader STEM sectors.

Co-organised by Dr Chris Perrella and Braeden Borg, the event was a collaboration between the Australian Institute of Physics (SA Branch) and the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) and supported by Quantum Australia.

The evening opened with presentations from industry representatives, followed by a networking session. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with employers, including:

  • Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG): Scott Bailey, Liam Brownlie, David Broderick, and Anna Hurt
  • Minelab Metal Detectors: Edward Hollitt and Benjamin Whelan
  • Lockheed Martin Australia: Grant Nelson

  • Fleet Space Technologies: Timothy Jones
  • Saber Astronautics: Hamish Self
