Professor Withawat Withayachumnankul Named Finalist for 2025 STEMM Educator of the Year
We are delighted to share that Professor Withawat Withayachumnankul from the University of Adelaide has been named a finalist for the 2025 STEMM Educator of the Year – University category.
Withawat leads Australia’s largest terahertz technology group, pioneering research in sensing and communications technologies critical for future industries. His contributions have been recognised through numerous high-impact publications, prestigious awards such as the National Measurement Institute’s Barry Inglis Medal, and his appointment as an Optica Fellow.
Beyond his research achievements, Professor Withayachumnankul is dedicated to education and mentorship, creating a supportive environment that equips students with practical skills and fosters strong industry engagement. Many of his graduates have gone on to prestigious roles at leading global institutions, contributing to a skilled workforce that drives innovation and economic growth.
This recognition adds to an exciting awards season for IPAS, with Professor Heike Ebendorff-Heidepriem and Professor Kishan Dholakia also nominated for SA Scientist of the Year.
