Poor recordkeeping linked to organisational inefficiencies

The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) has recently released (June 2018) a performance audit report regarding the integration of two Commonwealth agencies.  Of the three recommendations made by the ANAO as a result of its audit, Recommendation 1 states the new integrated agency needs to give priority to addressing its records and information management deficiencies.

University Archives volunteer group wins Vice-Chancellor's Award!

On December 1st the university held its annual Vice-Chancellor’s Volunteer Achievement Awards Ceremony, which recognises the amazing contribution made by over 2600 volunteers. This year the University Archives Volunteers group are the very proud co-recipients of the Group of the Year award! Congratulations to all of our volunteers, and thank you so much for your hard work throughout the year.

New records repository open for business

In 2016, the sale of Thebarton Campus resulted in the need to relocate the University’s off-site records repository. This significant project involved the establishment of a new facility on the lower level of the Woolhouse Library at Waite Campus. Over 25,000 boxes of temporary and permanent files, as well as the bulk of the University Archives collection, were transferred to Waite during February and March this year. Importantly, restrictions on access to the records were kept to a minimum and business has now returned to normal.
