Official mission to Vietnam and Singapore
With the borders open once again and international travel well underway, the University has made its first official international post-pandemic mission.
Led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement), senior University staff met with partners, government representatives and alumni in Singapore and Vietnam.
Taking place from 13 – 24 September, the UoA delegation included the Deputy Deans (International) from each faculty, Heads of Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, the Acting Director International Recruitment and Director International Business Development. In Hanoi, the delegation also connected with an NCP study group from SET.
Meetings included our partners at National Economic University Hanoi (NEU), Vietnam National University Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and the University of Economics – International School of Business (UEH-ISB). The University also signed a number of new agreements during the visits to support partnership and recruitment outcomes, including a credit transfer agreement with VNU UEB, a new service agreement with NEU, and an articulation agreement with UEH-ISB.
As part of the mission, the delegation also exchanged briefings with the new Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, the High Commissioner to Singapore and senior representatives from the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, and Ministry of Science and Technology. Agent workshops and school visits were held in both countries to profile and promote UoA programs.
The mission was also an excellent opportunity to reconnect with significant Singaporean alumni, with receptions held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore, providing an opportunity to meet these important stakeholders face-to-face for the first time in over two years.
