Deputy Vice-Chancellor's message

Our partnerships with international institutions that share our commitment to delivering in research excellence, expanding educational offerings, and supporting the next generation of global leaders are a key to our strategic pillar: Connected to the global world of ideas.

I recently had the opportunity to renew and strengthen relationships with some of our global partners during a visit to the UK with a small delegation from the University.

The signing of a joint engagement plan with the University of Nottingham, discussions on defence and security and a renewed student exchange agreement with the University of Exeter, engagement on space, sustainability and cyber security with the University of Surrey, and meetings on joint training initiatives with the University College London will all provide opportunities for education and research collaboration, and a richer student experience.

Productive discussions were also held with key alumni who hold positions in organisations such as the European Space Agency; UK Power Networks; Aerospace Medicine Research, Kings College London and international consultancy agency CT Group.

An alumni reception in London was a highlight of the trip. It is always a great pleasure to meet with our alumni around the world and hear where their University of Adelaide education has taken them. Collectively, our alumni are an incredible resource, a unique global community who help us make meaningful connections with prospective students, industry, and their local communities.

It is through events like this – and similar receptions held in recent months in Singapore, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Sydney and Melbourne – that we nurture relationships and stay connected with our alumni. My thanks to the global engagement, alumni and other teams across the University for your contributions and hard work in delivering these important activities.
