Elder Conservatorium of Music

UNESCO Cities of Music 'Jazz Day Relay"
For this year’s International Day of Jazz on April 30, member cities of the UNESCO Cities of Music Network came together for a joint video project. Adelaide’s performance was coordinated by Mark Ferguson, and performed by students and recent graduates of the Elder Conservatorium's jazz program: Triniti Canini (flugelhorn), Jasmine Ferguson (trombone), James Ho (acoustic bass), Bailey Hall (drums), Ciara Ferguson (piano). Liam Somerville from Capital Waste Pictures filmed and edited Adelaide’s performance with sound recorded by Dylan Cooper on Kaurna land, with additional camera operator Ryan Sahb.
This video had its world premiere on Wednesday April 26 and is available on the UNESCO Cities of Music website.
This project was dedicated to the people of Ukraine and in solidarity with the Creative Cities of Ukraine including Kharkiv, Lviv and Odessa. For more information on UNESCO and Ukraine, and to donate click here.
Music Theatre student Successes
Congratulations to Louisa Vilinne, who completed the Bachelor of Music Theatre last year, and who has scored the lead role of Kim (alternate) in Opera Australia’s production of Miss Saigon. This follows on a number of successes for our Music Theatre students and graduates, including Max Walburn (current Third Year), who has just completed the run in the professional production of La Cage aux Folles with Paul Capsis in Sydney; and AJ Pate (2021 graduate) who is currently appearing in Metropolis with Hayes Theatre.
