Pivot-RP to replace Research Professional
From Tuesday 5 September, Pivot-RP will replace Research Professional as the licenced online research funding search tool for the University of Adelaide.
Access to the Research Professional service will be decommissioned and, instead, Pivot-RP will be available for searching for funding opportunities and research news. Research Professional and Pivot-RP will run concurrently for one month until Monday 2 October to allow users to recreate saved searches and alerts in Pivot-RP as they cannot be copied across. Pivot-RP includes all the benefits, and more, of Research Professional. It:
- allows users to save searches and establish auto-alerts via email of new opportunities within the search parameters;
- allows users to link ORCID (and other academic) profiles to Pivot-RP profiles for automatic funding alerts related to your field of research (advisor alert)
- has more intuitive and user-friendly search functions including the ability to track opportunities for alerts when information is added/changed (such as deadline extensions)
- allows for user groups associated with particular fields of research to be automatically alerted via email of new, relevant funding opportunities via newsletters
- better ability to drill down in a broad search to find relevant opportunities
- allows for greater collaboration via networks.
When Pivot-RP goes live, it will also be integrated with Okta Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), which will change the way you authenticate with the app. Authentication will be done via an approved authentication tool (such as Okta Verify or Google Authenticator) as well as your university credentials. More information. It is essential that you 'Use login from my institution' each time you access Pivot-RP.
Training sessions will be announced soon and held in early September.
