Body worn camera trial
To increase safety and security on campus, our University Security team are trialling body worn cameras. The use of body worn cameras is being adopted by a number of universities across Australia. The body worn cameras the University of Adelaide will be trialling are an extension to our existing CCTV network. They will allow the video recording of interactions, with a view to enhancing and promoting the safety of security staff and persons they may be required to interact with as well as acting to deter unacceptable behaviour. Recordings will be made in situations where the wellbeing of security staff, students, staff or members of the public may be at risk or where some form of action may be required, or when an intervention may be required.
