Casual Engagement Essentials Series - September
The HR Branch is running a series of education sessions titled Casual Engagement Essentials. Attendance is strongly encouraged for timesheet validators and supervisors of casual staff but is open to anyone else involved in the casual engagement process. Program Student Experience of Learning and Teaching survey
Evaluation is a central component of professional development, course/program development and the University's quality assurance process. One of the major evaluation tools used at the University is the Student Experience of Learning and Teaching (SELT) system. This year's Program SELT survey is open from Monday 2 September to Sunday 22 September. More information.

2025 New Colombo Plan Mobility Program round open
Applications are open for academic and professional staff to apply for New Colombo Plan Mobility Program funding to support Australian undergraduate students’ participation in study, language training, internships, practicums and research in the Indo-Pacific region. Projects must be a minimum of 28 days duration, up to a full semester. Internal application deadline is Monday 23 September, 9 am. For details email short.programs@adelaide.edu.au

The due date for 2024 Images of Learning and Teaching competition entries has been extended until Sunday 15 September. Entries are welcome from all students and staff to celebrate the diversity, innovation, and creativity of the learning and teaching at the University. More information.

Register for Sports Week and VC Cup
This year’s Sports Week is filled with dynamic sports and activities and culminates with the VC Cup. Teams of four (2 staff and 2 students - 1 male and 1 female each) are required from each Faculty/Division and will compete in various sports and challenges. 14–18 October, North Terrace campus. Research and Research Training Domain September Virtual Town Hall
We invite all staff to the upcoming Research and Research Training Domain virtual town hall via Zoom on Friday 13 September from 1.30–2.30 pm. This event is open to all staff who are interested in staying informed about key research activities leading up to our transition to the new Adelaide University. We will share updates on core areas of focus and provide you an opportunity to ask questions.

AU Transition Council update
The Adelaide University held its sixth formal Transition Council meeting on 23 August 2024, which was attended by Mr Jim McDowell, a newly appointed member of the Council. This was following the resignation of Mr Andrew Pridham, to whom the Chancellor expressed appreciation for his valuable contribution towards the establishment and transition to Adelaide University.

Thank you to all staff who joined our Town Hall meeting last week. We discussed a number of topics, including the Adelaide University launch, workforce transition, graduate qualities and common core, and research strategy.
Steve Larkin joins ARC Indigenous Forum
Professor Steve Larkin, Pro Vice-Chancellor – Indigenous Engagement, has been appointed as an inaugural member of the ARC Indigenous Forum. The forum is made up of a cross-section of eminent Indigenous members with significant experience in research, as well as engagement with end-users of research.
