Human Research Ethics Committee - call for voluntary committee members

The University of Adelaide Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) is calling for the following members: Researcher Representative, Indigenous Representative (proxy), Lawyer Representative (proxy), Pastoral Care Representative (proxy), and Professional Care Representative. Queries can be directed to Professor Chris Boyle, HREC Chair. Student Travel Risk Policy and Student Health Assessment and Leave Policy

The Student Travel Risk Policy and the Student Health Assessment and Leave Policy have been approved to be reaffirmed until 31 December 2025, as both policies required only minor amendments, effective immediately. The change in delegation authority for approving student high risk travel to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (External Engagement) resulted in the revised policy being endorsed at the VCE 4/24-31 July 2024 meeting. The Vice-Chancellor and President approved the policy on 13 August 2024. The Student Health Assessment and Leave Policy only required editorial changes and as such, was approved by the Policy Custodian, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) on 31 July 2024.

2024 Measurement Awards

Professor Withawat Withayachumnankul and Dr Pei Lay Yap have each received 2024 Measurement Awards. Professor Withayachumnankul received the Barry Inglis Medal for his work supporting the development of terahertz communications and material characterisation applications. Dr Pei Lay Yap received the Measurement Achievement Encouragement Award for her work in the standardisation of graphene characterisation. Read more.
