Adelaide University academic calendar
Adelaide University aims to offer Australia’s most accessible and contemporary curriculum, prioritising student flexibility and experience. In support of this vision, Adelaide University’s choice to adopt a trimester academic calendar will enable the University to offer more flexible and focused learning opportunities that better support student progression, engagement, and achievement.
To support this transition, an information document has been developed which shares:
- the vision for trimesters at Adelaide University
- the background work and sector analysis undertaken to date
- the feedback received from staff so far, across a range of forums
- the proposed future engagement with staff, students, and key stakeholders, and the indicative timeline
- the principles which will support our transition to trimesters.
Recognising the gradual nature of this transition, we will begin initial program-specific engagement activities in 2025, followed by broader engagement through until 2027 to ensure a collaborative and informed approach. Feedback from both academic and professional staff will be essential to understanding the wide-ranging considerations for our services, operations, and workload management, ensuring a well-supported and successful implementation of the new calendar.
A dedicated page on the interim staff Intranet has been published to provide the key elements of the academic calendar information document in separate sections. The full information document is available to download from this page as a PDF.
