2024 Ramaciotti Medal for Excellence

2024 Ramaciotti Medal for Excellence

Professor Jozef Gécz, Head of Neurogenetics at the University, has received the 2024 Ramaciotti Medal for Excellence. The medal, awarded by the Clive & Vera Ramaciotti Foundations, is presented to individuals who have made an outstanding discovery in clinical or experimental biomedical research which has had an important impact on biomedical science, clinical science, or the way in which healthcare is delivered. End of year insurance reporting deadline reminder

The deadline for reporting notifiable events to the Insurance Office was Friday 18 October 2024. Incidents occurring after that date must be reported as they occur or as soon as they become known and before Thursday 31 October 2024. More information.

Casual engagement essentials series

The HR Branch is running a series of education sessions. Attendance is encouraged for timesheet validators, supervisors, and hiring managers of casual staff but is open to anyone involved in the casual engagement process. These sessions will provide information about obligations and various strategies to support the casual workforce. More information.

Professor Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement), has been appointed to the New Colombo Plan External Advisory Group. Introduction to strategic journal publishing

The liason librarians will provide guidance on finding journals in different disciplines and assessing journal quality, including rankings and impact factors, and using tools such as Journal Citation Reports, Scopus, and Scimago. Learn how to evaluate predatory journals, assess open access opportunities, and select the best option to maximise the impact of your research. Monday 21 October, 10–11 am. Online.
