Provost's message

This Friday, the 17th of May, is IDAHOBIT, the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination. This date commemorates the anniversary the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases in 1990. Prior to this, homosexuality was classified globally as a mental illness.
Launch of the Empowered Educators Professional Learning series

All staff who teach or support learning are invited to join the Empowered Educators series, designed to support teaching quality and the facilitation of student learning in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

Research and Research Training Domain virtual town hall reminder
We would like to remind staff that the Research and Research Training Domain is holding a virtual town hall on Thursday 9 May from 3–4 pm via Zoom. This event is open to all staff who are interested in staying informed on key research activities leading up to our transition to the new Adelaide University. We will share updates on core areas of focus and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions in an open Q&A. Please register for the virtual town hall to receive the Zoom link.

eProcurement information session
This workshop will explain why the University uses the eProcurement system and how to use it. It will cover getting access to the system through to receiving the goods. Tuesday 14 May, 2–3 pm, online. Register.
Australian staff survey data on burnout
26th Women in Research 'Small wins' series. In this webinar you will hear about the latest Australian university staff survey results around mental health, psychosocial safety, and burnout in universities. Experts will also share their insights on work design into improving university staff wellbeing. Thursday 16 May, 11.30 am to 12.30 pm, online. Register.
Staff use and perceptions of Generative AI in Australian universities
Staff are invited to participate in a national survey that examines how AI tools are currently being used by academic, professional and sessional staff in Australian universities for teaching, research and professional work. The survey takes 10–15 minutes to complete.
