Hibernation

Does anyone else want to hibernate in winter? Once it gets cold, I seem to lose interest in going outside or doing anything remotely active.

I wake up reluctantly, always wanting to stay in the dream world. Getting out of my warm bed is painful. All I want is to be wrapped in one hundred layers and not have to think about anything. I crawl out of bed into the hot shower, where I would stay forever if I could. But the day's work has to happen. I get dressed, shivering because my house is so cold. I put on about a hundred layers and ride to work, my fingers and face freezing as I ride through the icy air.

At work, I look forward to each cup of tea. I daydream about my bed. I rush home at the end of the day and pull off my work clothes, already in my pyjamas by 6pm. The cold makes me hungry, so I eat a big dinner in front of an episode of tv before curling up for an early night. I sleep for more than 8 hours, and still feel sleepy the next morning.

Wouldn't it be much more convenient to just hibernate for the winter months, and wake up when the sun comes back?
