Adelaide University Transition Council update

On 8 March 2024, we announced the establishment of the new Adelaide University and its governing body, led by Ms Pauline Carr as Chancellor.

As activity to build the new Adelaide University intensifies and the Transition Council settles into its important role, there has been a change to its membership to manage workload effectively and to strengthen the governing body.

Hon John Hill has stepped down as a member and a Deputy Chancellor of the Transition Council to commence the role of Chancellor of the University of South Australia. Mr Andrew Pridham AO has been appointed as a member of the Transition Council, and Mr Jim Hazel has taken up the office of Deputy Chancellor.

These changes represent a step to further strengthen governance arrangements for the new Adelaide University, while ensuring both the University of South Australia and The University of Adelaide Councils remain fully focused on advancing the best interests of their respective organisations.

The full Transition Council membership is listed on the Adelaide University microsite

Since formation on 8 March 2024, the Transition Council has met three times. To date, activities have been focussed on consultation, governance arrangements, preparing for market launch, brand development, and identifying critical paths, milestones and systems integration priorities.
