South Australia Young Tall Poppy of the Year

Marine ecologist Dr Nina Wootton (School of Biological Sciences) has been named South Australia’s Young Tall Poppy of the Year. Her research has involved quantifying the amount of plastic and microplastic found in seafood species globally, analysing the potential effects of plastic on seafood species and fisheries, and working with the seafood industry to help develop solutions to this growing plastic problem.
