The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences was pleased to recently celebrate an historic first with the appointment of Professor Josephine Thomas, a proud alumna, and the first ever female Dean of Medicine and Head of Adelaide Medical School since the Faculty of Medicine was established in 1885. This milestone, achieved as we entered into our final year as the University of Adelaide, perfectly embodies our commitment to history making.

Mural contest

Please encourage students to engage in their creativity by promoting The Campus is Yours to Create! The contest provides students with a chance to showcase their talent and enhance their portfolios with a large-scale project that will be displayed the Hub Eastern Courtyard by the Student Kitchen. The winner will receive a $1,000 gift card. More information.

Early closure of Taikunthi

Taikunthi bar and restaurant on level 5 of Union House will be closed at 4 pm on Tuesday 25 March for a private event, rather than the usual 5pm. The restaurant is open from 8am weekdays for coffee and is ideal for a breakfast meeting, entertaining guests, or an afternoon beverage. More information

Portfolio Change Proposals

A reminder that Change Proposals have been issued for the Indigenous and the People and Culture Portfolios. The consultation period for these closes at 11.59 pm (ACST) on Monday 7 April 2025. Please visit the Change Proposal Hub on the interim AU intranet to access the Change Proposals, and for more information or to provide feedback. Recordings of the Portfolio Town Hall meetings held last Thursday are also available on the intranet page.
