Children’s University Adelaide on-campus experience day

On Wednesday 2 July, up to 120 Children's University students will be on North Terrace campus to experience university life through various hands-on learning activities. If you’re passionate about sharing your expertise and engaging with primary school students, academics and students are being sought to lead activities for small groups of up to 30 students at a time between 10.30 am and 2 pm. Understanding predatory publishing

Identifying predatory publishers is important as publishing your work with them can damage your research impact and professional reputation. This workshop will help you to understand how to assess a journal or conference to identify whether it is legitimate, or might be predatory. Thursday 17 April, 11 am to 12 pm. Online. Register.

ADEPT check for integrity

If you are responsible for marking, this session will prepare you to detect the signs and signals that may indicate breaches of the Academic Integrity Policy. It will include both document and technical indicators for a number of types of cheating. Academic Integrity Officers will share learnings from their experience. Friday 11 April, 11.30 am to 1 pm. Chi-square and correlation in R

In this hands-on training, we will traverse into the realm of inferential statistics in R, beginning with correlation and reliability. We will present a brief conceptual overview and the R procedures for computing reliability and correlation (Pearson’s r, Spearman’s Rho and Kendall’s tau) in real world datasets.
