Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Excellence)
Professor Laura Parry has been appointed as the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Excellence) within the Division of Research and Innovation. The primary role is to assist in implementing and evolving strategy to enhance research outcomes; promote research excellence, impact, productivity and revenue growth; and support research integrity and compliance.
NCP Scholarship winners
Two University of Adelaide undergraduates are set to expand their horizons as they head to universities in the Indo-Pacific region under the New Colombo Plan (NCP). Judah Tan will be studying in Japan and Jocelyn Lee in South Korea. Read more
Livestock app takes top student entrepreneurship award
A smartphone app that allows farmers to better select livestock at auctions has won the top prize in the University of Adelaide’s Australian eChallenge. Allowing farmers to filter large numbers of animals at auction using breeding preferences and suitability. Further information

Leading photonics expert named Innovator of the Year

Professor Andre Luiten claimed the honour of the 2022 South Australian Innovator of the Year at the SA Science Excellence and Innovation Awards.

Best Wine Student
A University of Adelaide student has been named Best Wine Student in the country. Karlee Cook, who is studying a Masters in Wine Business, received the accolade at the 2022 Wine Communicator Awards in Sydney. Further information
PhD student wins major climate change award

PhD candidate Bobbie Lewis Baida is the overall winner of the Premier’s Climate Change Council 2022 SA Climate Leaders Awards for her critical research into the effects of climate change on sheep production.

Recognition for Professor Bryan Jenkins
Professor Bryan Jenkins was made an Honorary Life Member of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand for his contribution to the environment profession.
