Lumen celebrating creativity
In this edition of Lumen we celebrate all things creative. Art, music, theatre, comedy, literature, research, teaching and volunteers. Plus we unveil a new artwork created by noted Australian artist and alum Peter Drew.

Many of us are contributing our expertise and knowledge to design a new university that is truly prepared for future challenges. It’s been a professional highlight to work alongside talented and committed teams as they develop suites of new courses, write accreditation submissions for new programs, and prepare for 1 January 2026, when Adelaide University will open its doors.
Children's University Adelaide members experience a day of hands-on learning
The University of Adelaide’s North Terrace Campus was buzzing with excitement last week as it hosted students from seven Children’s University partner schools for an immersive on-campus experience day. The event allowed students to explore university life and get a firsthand glimpse into higher education.

Five-year partnership to boost foundational AI research in Australia
The University has announced a new strategic partnership with the Commonwealth Bank and the creation of the CommBank Centre for Foundational AI to advance research and bolster Australia’s AI capability. The five-year partnership will further enhance the research and education offerings of the University’s Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML). Read more.

Peter Drew and the art of creation

Vice-Chancellor's message
This week the University will host seven graduation ceremonies in Bonython Hall, and more than 1,500 new graduates will join our alumni family. Graduation ceremonies recognise our students’ hard work and talent, as well as the unique contributions to their learning by our academic and professional staff.
Giving Day 2024
Thank you to the more than 570 donors, including staff and students, who raised over $400,000 to support 16 important causes at our second annual Giving Day. The success of Giving Day 2024 is an inspiring testament to the growing spirit of philanthropy within our community. Watch the video and see photos of the day.
Celebrating the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates
Fourteen First Nations students will graduate from the University of Adelaide this semester, and their accomplishments were celebrated at a special event hosted by Wirltu Yarlu, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit at the University. Read more.

Festival of Learning and Teaching - registrations now open
Join us for the October Festival of Learning and Teaching, where you can hear from university leaders, gain insights from peer presentations, and delve into key ideas on inclusion and innovation.
