AU Systems progress – seeking your assistance with updating staff information
Central to the transition to Adelaide University is the design and build of IT systems to properly support its operations, staff and students and help ensure as smooth a transition as possible from UoA and UniSA. Following selection of our future information technology systems, a detailed plan has been developed to support the safe and secure transition and future transfer of staff records to the Adelaide University HR system.

Open Day volunteers
To ensure a successful Open Day event, the University needs volunteers. There is a variety of roles available across the North Terrace campus and the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences building. This includes volunteering in the Welcome Hubs, Maths Lawns Marquee, Q&A sessions and taking tours. Registrations close 6 August, 5 pm.
Open Day bump in
Open Day 2024 is on Sunday 11 August at North Terrace campus and AHMS Building. As a result, there will be increased noise and activity in the lead-up and post event around the Benham building, Mawson building, Braggs building and Molecular Sciences building. The Village common area is available to book
University of Adelaide Village at 210 Grote Street is available for University staff to book for educational events. The venue, accommodating up to 100 people, includes a recreation room with a home entertainment theatre, PlayStation area, pool table, and table tennis. Email the Village for more information.

Writing workshop: Commendations for the Enhancement and Innovation of Student Learning
If you are considering applying for the Commendations for the Enhancement and Innovation of Student Learning award this year or in the future, this session will lay the foundations for a strong application. Friday 9 August, 10 am to 12 pm. The Cog, Wills Meeting Room 704, North Terrace campus. Register.
Australia-Japan Foundation Grants Program 2024-25
Applications are now open for the Australia-Japan Foundation Grants Program 2024-25 with ~$780,000 available in the funding pool. The Australia-Japan Foundation is Australia's oldest cultural council supporting people-to-people links underpinning this key bilateral and regional relationship. Apply before 1.30 pm Wednesday 21 August.

Adelaide University campus pop-ups
New Adelaide University branded lanyards were provided to staff at the Convention Centre event and will be distributed across our campuses for those who couldn’t attend. Adelaide metro campus pop-ups for staff to collect their new Adelaide University lanyard continue this week.
Adelaide University email signature blocks and resources
Following the market launch of Adelaide University, a range of helpful resources have been developed to support continued engagement and conversations with key audiences, including key messages, FAQs, and email signature blocks.

Institutional awards for learning and teaching
The Stephen Cole the Elder Awards for Excellence are the University of Adelaide’s premier learning and teaching awards. All applications must be supported by a formal nomination by 9 am Monday 26 August. The Commendations for the Enhancement and Innovation of Student Learning applications are due by Tuesday 1 October.

Australian Government data on Dataplace
The Australian Government has launched Dataplace and the associated Australian Government Data Catalogue, establishing new pathways for finding, requesting and negotiating access to government data assets for research and development. The University of Adelaide achieved accreditation as a User in early June 2024. More information.
