Women in STEM Alumni Network Committee

The University of Adelaide Women in STEM Alumni Committee (WiSAN) act as representatives of the University's Women in STEM Alumni cohort.

The driving force behind the Women in STEM Alumni program, each committee member volunteers their time to assist in developing and executing a wide range of events and programs aimed at connecting our Women in STEM Alumni.

The Women in STEM Alumni Committee is made up of four sub-committees - Events, Marketing, Outreach and Membership.

 

 

 

Mission Statement

The Women in STEM Alumni Network aims to develop and foster a supportive, diverse and inspiring community for its graduates through engagement, peer mentoring, personal and professional development and support for the next generation of Women in STEM.

We are currently looking for alumni to volunteer for the Women in STEM Alumni Committee positions. Expressions of interest are now open and close Monday 18 July 2022.

    Are you passionate about shining a light on STEM careers, alumnae and industry?

    We have 5 positions open across social media, events, future planning and secretary - so apply NOW to be part of a committee that represents over 17K women around the world!

    Committee Member Role Responsibilities
    Social Media (x2)
    • Create, plan and post social media content across three platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
    • Create content for our Women in Focus series
    • Film and post social media content during events
    • Build the networks social media following and engagement
    Events
    • Organise and Plan future committee events
    • Organise catering, drinks and enquire about event locations
    • Liaise with the social media team and committee to organise event details
    • Set up and pack down of events
    Future Planning
    • Keep the committee focussed in achieving key goals with regards to diversity, inclusion & growth
    • Work amongst teams as needed
    • Regular check-ins with each team
    Secretary
    • Keep the committee focussed in achieving key goals with regards to diversity, inclusion & growth
    • Work amongst teams as needed
    • Regular check-ins with each team

    Commitments 

    • 1 x Meeting a month (virtual)
    • Average of 1-2 hours a week (more at peak times)
    • Attending WISAN Events (when possible)
