If you have a current first aid certificate and are available to provide first aid assistance to members of the University community, consider registering on the University First Aid Register by filling in the webform. If you are already on the First Aid Register, there is no need to resubmit the form.

Next subset of Adelaide University programs go live

On 15 July, Adelaide University launched the first subset of coursework programs for promotion to prospective students. Late last week, the second subset of 27 programs were released and feature on the Adelaide University website, across a range of disciplines including Animal and Veterinary Science, Psychology, Health and Biomedical Sciences, Midwifery, Engineering, Social Sciences, Commerce and Economics and Wine and Agriculture.

Diwali celebrations

We recently celebrated Diwali on our Maths Lawns, bringing together 450 guests for an evening of lights, music, and tradition. The event featured dance performances, diya painting, Parai drumming, Henna art, and more, all capturing the spirit of Diwali.

CSL Centenary Fellowship

CSL Centenary Fellowship

Dr Qi Zhang (SAiGENCI), who leads the Epigenetics and Gene Regulation Laboratory, has been awarded a CSL Centenary Fellowship, worth $1.25 million across five years. Dr Zhang, who is a European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) Australia fellow, investigates the epigenetic processes that turn genes on and turn off to influence the development of individual cells, which may have positive or negative consequences. Indigenous Media Mentoring Program 2025

The Indigenous Media Mentoring Program provides two days of intensive media training to competitively selected Indigenous scientists and researchers, giving them the skills and the confidence to engage with media. Email your expression of interest and CV to immp@smc.org.au before Sunday 1 December. Animal ethics deadlines

First submission deadlines for Animal Ethics applications to be considered in 2025 are as follows: SET applications are due 7 January 2025 for 30 January 2025 AEC meeting, and HMS applications are due 24 January 2025 for 10 February 2025 AEC meeting. More information.

Diversity and inclusion in teaching workshop

Facilitating success for diverse HDR students: Strategies to encourage and support a diverse HDR cohort. This session will explore some of the issues and workshop approaches to increase inclusivity awareness, support diverse students, and facilitate success for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and supervisors.
