Legal deposit: compliance reminder for University publishers
A reminder that legal deposit laws require University of Adelaide to provide copies of works it publishes to the State Library of South Australia. University-published materials that may require deposit include reports, journals, brochures. Electronic deposit is preferred via National edeposit (NED), which satisfies State and national requirements. More information.

Applications closing soon: AU Strategic Conference Sponsorship Fund
Applications for the AU Strategic Conference Sponsorship Fund close at 5pm on Friday 21 November. Staff can apply for up to $20K in funding to support strategic events that profile AU to global audiences. Information and the online application form are available on the AU Staff Intranet.

Council news

Adelaide University Student Association
Adelaide University Student Association (AUSA) is the new student association at Adelaide University, here to support all Adelaide University students. AUSA offers a range of student services to help support the challenges of balancing life and study demands. From welfare and academic advocacy support to facilitating clubs and hosting some of the biggest events on campus, AUSA is here to enhance the student experience. More information.
Record keeping responsibilities
As we prepare for Day 1 of Adelaide University, all staff are reminded of their responsibilities under the State Records Act (1997). University records (digital or physical) must be preserved and not destroyed without authorisation. For guidance and support, refer to the Recordkeeping Guide for Transition, or contact Records Services.
International Fellows Award: applications closing soon
The International Fellows Award supports world-renowned global academics and researchers to collaborate with Adelaide University staff. Purchase order closures
Staff are encouraged to start reviewing all open purchase orders to identify potential closures; this will ensure any unspent funds are returned to project codes. All standing amount only purchase orders for 2025 will be closed prior to the end of year closure. Staff will need to submit a new requisition in 2026. Please email all purchase order close requests to purchasing@adelaide.edu.au
End of year purchasing deadlines: urgent orders
The last day for submitting requisitions for purchase orders is Friday 28 November. Staff are encouraged to review and forecast any critical items (particularly gas) with the view of ordering additional stock to cover requirements from Saturday 29 November through to Monday 5 January 2026. Should you have any urgent orders (critical to research projects etc) that you require after Friday 28 November, please contact the purchasing team purchasing@adelaide.edu.au to discuss your options.
