RUOK? Day 2022

R U Okay Day 2022

RUOK? Day is a reminder to check in with our friends, family and ourselves about our mental health and wellbeing. But sometimes asking the question can be intimidating, especially if you're not sure how someone might respond or how you can help.

This Thursday, the University will be hosting a number of events to guide conversations around mental health. Remember, you don't need to be an expert to help.

  • Hub Activation: The Wellbeing Warrior volunteers will be handing out cupcakes, resources and collecting responses to the questions “If you’re not OK, how do you want someone to ask?” and “What stops you from asking?” Thursday 10-12pm, Hub Central.

  • Social media takeover: The student team will be hosting a takeover on Thursday, covering the event in the Hub, highlighting themes from RUOK (You don’t need a qualification to ask) and reminding students that Counselling Service support available. Follow the University's main Instagram channel for more info.

  • Wellbeing Hub: Advertising that links people to resources and support has been added to the landing page and Relationships pod of the Wellbeing Hub.

  • Wellbeing tip: Resources and conversation tips are being shared through the Wellbeing Tips newsletter. Subscribe here.

  • Badges for visibility: Badges have been provided to the Wellbeing Champions network members, ASK Adelaide staff, the Counselling Service and Executives.

  • Nationwide virtual event: Staff are encouraged to sign up for RUOK? Day's virtual event, where RUOK? Day CEO Katherine Newton and special guests will share conversation tips and personal stories. Register here.
