Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering

Adjunct Professor with the University of Adelaide's Institute of Sustainability, Energy and Resources (ISER), Henrik Stiesdal, along with Andrew Garrad CBE have been awarded the 2024 Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering for their achievements in wind power. The prestigious award celebrates 'groundbreaking engineering innovation which is of global benefit to humanity'.

New artificial intelligence expert group

Professor Simon Lucey, Director of the Australian Institute for Machine Learning has been appointed to the Artificial Intelligence Expert Group which will provide advice to the Department of Industry, Science and Resources.

Cultural Intelligence (CQ)

Apply for this 5-week extra-curricular program for domestic and international students. Global IQ Connect teaches cultural intelligence, a skill set highly valued by employers. Learn how to successfully communicate in culturally diverse settings. Hours count towards the Adelaide Graduate Award or CaRST. Registrations for round 1 close Sunday 3 March. More information.

Abandoned bikes and locks

Bikes and bike locks identified by Security as ‘abandoned’ will be removed from campus in late-March as part of the annual bike parking maintenance. This assessment is based on the presence of accumulated rust and/or debris around the item. If your bike or lock has been tagged by mistake, please remove the tag as soon as possible. O'Week 2024 - Sports Village

The Adelaide University Sports Village is running during O'Week, 19-22 February. Engage with more than 38 clubs, watch live demos, get involved in activations, score some freebies and learn about intervarsity competitions, scholarships, and our AU Waatu University Basketball League team. Cloisters and Jacaranda Lawns, North Terrace campus. Design empowering collaborative learning

This workshop is designed for teaching staff eager to elevate their collaborative learning strategies. Through a blend of hands-on activities, technology demonstrations, and collaborative discussions, participants will leave with the skills and inspiration needed to transform their learning spaces into dynamic hubs of collaboration and empowerment through enhanced learning techniques and assessment methods. Thursday 7 March, 1-4 pm.
