Applications now open – Peer Connect Program (Leaders & Guides)
The Student Connections team is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Peer Connect Program at Adelaide University, including roles for Peer Connect Leaders and Peer Connect Guides.
The Peer Connect Program is designed to ensure new students feel welcomed, supported, and connected from the very beginning of their university journey. Students in these roles play a vital part in building belonging and confidence among our commencing cohort, while also developing their own leadership, communication, and employability skills.
We encourage all staff and academics to share this opportunity with your students.
Peer Connect Leaders (Paid casual role)
Peer Connect Leaders are at the heart of welcoming and supporting new students at Adelaide University. They are the first point of contact for many students, providing guidance, advice, and reassurance as students start their university journey. Leaders make welcome calls, respond to enquiries, and help students navigate their first weeks of study, ensuring they feel connected, confident, clear, and supported.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting welcome calls and mid-study check-ins with commencing students
- Responding to student enquiries and providing guidance on services and support
- Assisting university teams with key student-focused activities
- Sharing their own experiences and insights to help new students navigate their first year
Why it matters: Leaders directly contribute to student success and retention by ensuring new students feel a sense of belonging, know where to find help, and remain engaged throughout their studies. Most importantly, they help students build connection, confidence, and clarity during their first year at Adelaide University.
Applications close: Sunday, 12 October 2025

- Helping students connect with peers and engage with university life in their first six weeks
- Promoting available support services and sharing advice from a student perspective
