Final conferral deadlines for inclusion in March ceremonies
Both academic and professional staff serve as front-line communicators with our students. As such, it is imperative that all interactions are clear and consistent regarding the compressed conferral deadlines - and the impact they have on students who are transitioning or completing their programs in 2025. Detailed information to assist with staff communication and planning is now available on a staff only section on the ‘Graduating from Adelaide’ section of the website. Enquiries can also be directed to the Graduations Office.

Risks posed by illegal academic cheating services
TEQSA is concerned that illegal academic cheating services are posing a cyber security risk to higher education providers, through systematic targeting of learning management systems (LMS), and resulting in threats to students, academic and professional staff, research and information security, and have published the Sector update: Cyber security and associated risks posed by illegal academic cheating services.

Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia (ASSA)
Professor John Williams AM, University of Adelaide Provost and Adelaide University Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia (ASSA). The Academy brings together over 700 of Australia’s leading researchers and professionals across the social science disciplines. Fellows are elected by their peers based on a sustained and internationally distinguished contribution to their field. Read more.

All staff town hall
This will be an online event, hosted by the co-Vice Chancellors, where staff will get transition updates and an opportunity to ask questions. Tuesday 28 October 2 pm–3 pm. Via Zoom.
Provost's message
Last Thursday, the University hosted the Gillard Public Lecture 2025, a free event in Bonthyon Hall to which our community is invited each year. This lecture is hosted by the Honourable Professor Julia Gillard AC, 27th Prime Minister of Australia, an alum of the University of Adelaide, and a Visiting Honorary Professor here since 2013.
Australian Access Federation (AAF) supported services
The AAF services currently managed separately by UoA and UniSA will be transitioned to a single Adelaide University AAF Service in a phased approach. This means that the way users of these AAF-enabled services logon to these services will change. From Thursday 31st October 2025 UoA users will begin selecting the new AU option in the AAF portal when accessing services. More information.
