Research data management consultation

The University Library is seeking user input via an online survey on tools supporting research data management (Figshare, Research Data Planner), and information on research practices to improve offerings in that area. Input must be submitted by Friday 28 July and will inform updates to the Library’s online content, tools and support materials.

Laptop loans at the Library

Laptop loans at the Library

The Library has introduced a Laptop Self-Service Unit. Laptops are available to students for either seven day or four hour loan periods. The unit is located on Level 3 of the Barr Smith Library and is accessible 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Publishing open access using Read and Publish agreements

The University Library will present this 30-minute webinar which covers the benefits of publishing open access, outlines the fifteen discounted publisher agreements and details how to publish without paying article processing charges. There will be an opportunity to answer your questions. Thursday 8 June, 1-1.30 pm. Online. Register.

The University Library has developed information about the use of AI in study and research. Access changes to Library level 2 North

The Library has started refurbishment of the Barr Smith Library level 2. The first stage will be in the Reading Room. There will be no access to the Reading Room from 3 April to 29 May. Items can still be requested. More information.

2023 Hugh Martin Weir Prize

Ashley Dennis-Henderson

Ashley Dennis-Henderson has been awarded the 2023 Hugh Martin Weir PrizeAshley is currently undertaking a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and her research focuses on the analysis of historical texts using natural language processing.
