MACA Policy update

The temporary changes introduced to the MACA policy as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic will be removed from 1 July.  The major effects include students will no longer be able to submit a personal statement with a signed declaration in lieu of a medical/health certificate for Medical Circumstances (Procedure 6f), or in lieu of written evidence from a person or authority for Compassionate and/or Extenuating Circumstances (Procedure 6g).

New events process

The Division of External Engagement (DEE) has launched a new Events process. Information for Faculties, and other Divisions across the University on how to submit an Event Briefing Form is provided. A set of criteria has been established to determine the appropriate level of DEE support for non-Faculty events. Key information and commonly used templates and sample documents are also available to help you deliver a successful event.

Feedback on the new staff-focused food and beverage venue in Union House has been collated. Clear themes include: the importance of a staff-focused space; the need for somewhere to relax, work and discuss as well as eat and entertain; convenient opening hours; affordability; and a modern, relaxed, lounge feel. A strategic insights document, which is now available and your feedback is encouraged.

Vinnies CEO Sleepout

For the third time, Pro Vice Chancellor, Entrepreneurship, and Dean of Business at Adelaide Business School, Professor Noel Lindsay will be participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to fundraise and support the many Australians who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

The University Annual Report 2022 has been tabled in State Parliament and is now available to read on the University website. The report includes highlights and a summary of key activities, strategic initiatives and financial statements for the period of 1 January to 31 December 2022.

TEQSA consultation paper

TEQSA has released a consultation paper about the 2020 Good Practice Note: Preventing and responding to sexual assault and sexual harassment in the Australian higher education sector. Feedback is also invited on the draft revised Guidance Notes on Diversity and Equity, Student Grievances and Complaints and Wellbeing and Safety. Written responses due to Educational Policy and Compliance by Friday 7 July.

De-risking Microsoft Office macros
