Free AMEB Syllabuses from November!

2026 Manual of Syllabuses with PDF icon

Free AMEB syllabuses - arriving November!

From November this year, you’ll be able to download digital editions of AMEB syllabuses for free from ameb.edu.au/syllabuses

Choose from a single instrument syllabus, syllabuses grouped by instrument family, or the complete digital 2026 Manual of Syllabuses – from November 2025, they’ll all be free PDF downloads!

What’s changing?

The big changes for 2026 are:

  • No need to pay – download syllabus PDF/s for free!
  • No need to log in – you won’t need an ameb.edu.au/shop account to access syllabus downloads.

What’s staying the same?

If you have bought one of our syllabuses as digital download in the past, you’ll be familiar with the format. The PDF format and document structure are staying the same.

If you choose a syllabus for a specific instrument or instrument family, it will be a subset of the complete Manual of Syllabuses (Music), so every PDF will include all the information you need for that instrument or instrument family.

This means each PDF will include:

  • Front matter relevant to all syllabuses - i.e. 2026 News, General Requirements for Practical Examinations, and Regulations.

As well as:

  • Syllabus aim and structure.
  • Examination requirements for each grade.
  • Repertoire lists for practical examinations, including Grade book contents and Manual lists.

The complete digital Manual of Syllabuses will be available as a free download too.  And you’ll still be able to buy the printed edition 2026 Manual of Syllabuses (Music) for $29.95 from ameb.edu.au/shop and all good music retailers.

When can you get them?

We’re releasing the 2026 syllabuses and the complete 2026 Manual of Syllabuses in November 2025. Even though they aren’t out yet, we were so excited we just had to share the news early!

Keep an eye out for your AMEB SA&NT newsletter, look at ameb.edu.au or our socials for syllabus release updates.
