Adelaide University Partners with Uni Hub Playford to Expand Educational Access

Adelaide University is proud to be a primary partner of the Uni Hub Playford, strengthening the university's commitment to educational access, participation and community engagement in northern Adelaide.

The Uni Hub, currently in the Playford Library, offers a welcoming place for university students to study and connect that is close to home. Personalised services and support, digital access, and extended hours are available to help students succeed with their studies. A permanent facility at TAFE SA Elizabeth will launch in late 2025.

Through this partnership, Adelaide University will deliver Foundation Studies programs, provide student wellbeing, academic and career services, and offer educational outreach activities directly from the Hub location to future and current students.

The initiative represents a significant investment in  northern Adelaide  by Adelaide University with a contribution  funds toward the Hub's fit-out. Ongoing in-kind support from across AU portfolios will bolster the Hub’s collaborative efforts to understand and respond to community and student needs .

The partnership includes collaboration with the Northern Adelaide State Secondary Schools Alliance to foster stronger connections between secondary students and higher education opportunities.

"This partnership aligns with our mission to expand educational opportunities and create meaningful connections with local communities," states Tom Steer, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student Experience & Success at Adelaide University. "The Hub provides an important bridge for students transitioning from secondary education to university studies."

The Hub is currently building their base of registered students and has successfully promoted events to university students from the foundation universities since June 2025.

A formal launch event is planned for early 2026. The partnership demonstrates Adelaide University's deep commitment to co-creating purposeful change that will help to address inequity and educational disadvantage in our communities.
