Register for Sports Week and VC Cup
This year’s Sports Week is filled with dynamic sports and activities and culminates with the VC Cup. Teams of four (2 staff and 2 students - 1 male and 1 female each) are required from each Faculty/Division and will compete in various sports and challenges. 14–18 October, North Terrace campus. Research and Research Training Domain September Virtual Town Hall
We invite all staff to the upcoming Research and Research Training Domain virtual town hall via Zoom on Friday 13 September from 1.30–2.30 pm. This event is open to all staff who are interested in staying informed about key research activities leading up to our transition to the new Adelaide University. We will share updates on core areas of focus and provide you an opportunity to ask questions.

AU Transition Council update
The Adelaide University held its sixth formal Transition Council meeting on 23 August 2024, which was attended by Mr Jim McDowell, a newly appointed member of the Council. This was following the resignation of Mr Andrew Pridham, to whom the Chancellor expressed appreciation for his valuable contribution towards the establishment and transition to Adelaide University.

Thank you to all staff who joined our Town Hall meeting last week. We discussed a number of topics, including the Adelaide University launch, workforce transition, graduate qualities and common core, and research strategy.
Steve Larkin joins ARC Indigenous Forum

Professor Steve Larkin, Pro Vice-Chancellor – Indigenous Engagement, has been appointed as an inaugural member of the ARC Indigenous Forum. The forum is made up of a cross-section of eminent Indigenous members with significant experience in research, as well as engagement with end-users of research.
Giving Day activities

On Thursday 5 September, we’ll be celebrating our second annual Giving Day, both online and on campus. After an incredible result last year, where we surpassed our $350,000 goal, we’re setting our sights even higher this year. There are a number of activation events across our campuses that staff and students can get involved with to "win" extra funds for their chosen Giving Day causes.

Global IQ Connect is an extra-curricular program available to students of all levels, offering interactive workshops and small group discussions with participants from diverse backgrounds. I’ve always been fascinated with science and especially how the human body works. My mum trained to be a nurse, so in primary school when everyone was reading Winnie the Pooh books, I was instead flipping through her Grey’s Anatomy textbook!

Support for Students Policy
In January this year the University implemented a new Support for Students Policy, outlining how we provide academic and personal support to students. As a result, other policies that support our students have been reviewed this year, including Academic Progress by Course Work Students, and MACA. The Support for Students Policy is required to be reviewed annually. Feedback is being sought on the current policy. Please email epc@adelaide.edu.au by Friday 20 September.
