MTAA Women in MedTech Champion Award
Dr Katharina Richter (Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing) is the winner of the Women in MedTech Champion Award, presented to a leader for advancing the Women in MedTech's mission or goals to actively support women entering or advancing within the industry.
Portable Atomic Clock commendation
The Portable Atomic Clocks team led by Professor Andre Luiten received a commendation from the Chief Defence Scientist Tanya Monro AC for their exceptional performance at the Alternative Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) challenge event as part of the Rim of the Pacific military exercises.
SA Health Young Professional of the Year 2023
Associate Professor Alexandre Santos has been awarded Young Professional of the Year 2023 at the SA Health Awards and was also named in the Advertisers' 20 of South Australia's most influential young guns.

Distinguished Service Award
Professor Lindsay Richards (Adelaide Dental School) was recently presented with a Distinguished Service Award by the federal president of the Australian Dental Association at a special ceremony here in Adelaide.
Australian Academy of Humanities Fellowship
Professor Katie Barclay (School of Humanities) has been elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities. Katie is Head of Historical and Classical Studies and Co-Director of the Fay Gale Centre for Research in Gender. She has a particular specialisation in the History of Emotions, and its intersections with gender, and family life.

Women innovators helping to change the world
Dr Sarah Scholten and Dr Tiffany De Sousa Machado have been recognised for their outstanding work at this year’s Women in Innovation Awards.

South Australian Science Excellence Awards
World-renowned University of Adelaide medical expert Professor Helen Marshall AM has been named the SA Scientist of the Year, alongside experts who have been recognised for excellence in their chosen fields.

Childrens' University graduations
Over 3,000 Children's University Australasia students crossed the Bonython Hall stage over 11 graduation ceremonies in the last few weeks. This year's program involved 120 schools. In 2023, we also celebrated 10 years of Children’s University and had the pleasure of welcoming some of our inaugural graduating cohort to host the celebrations.
Postdoctoral grant winners
Dr Bing Wang (Adelaide Medical School) and Dr Lulu He (School of Architecture and Civil Engineering) are recipients of the Australian Federation of University Women Trust Postdoctoral Grants. These grants provide financial assistance for early career female postdoctoral fellows to attend a conference, or to cover research costs.
Young Investigator Award from the Prostate Cancer Foundation (US)
Dr Katherine Morel (SAiGENCI) has received a 2023 Young Investigator Award from the Prostate Cancer Foundation (US) for the project titled Modulation of Oxidative Stress Responses to Augment Prostate Cancer Radiation Therapy.
