Academic staff wishing to apply for promotion to Level B or Level C, must submit their online applications by 5.00 pm on Monday 29 May. To apply and for further information please visit the Human Resources website.
Conflict of Interest Procedure and Relationships with Students Procedure
Human Resources have conducted a review of the Conflict of Interest procedure and the Relationships with Students procedure in line with Transforming Culture Recommendation 21. The revised procedures have been approved and published within the University’s Policy Directory.

Additional flu vaccination appointments
Additional appointments for on-campus flu vaccinations are now available for staff and HDR students. If there are no suitable appointment times on campus, you can still book at a local pharmacy. Further information.
Policy and procedure updates
Minor amendments have been made to the following policies and procedures to include references to the Sexual Misconduct Policy and Related Procedures and related reporting pathways: Behaviour and Conduct Policy, Fair Treatment Procedure, Relationships with Students Procedure, and Equal Opportunity Policy These updates have been approved by the Acting COO and reaffirmed for a further three years.
Free staff flu vaccination program
With the winter months fast approaching the University is offering free flu vaccinations to all staff and HDR students. Bookings are now open to attend in pharmacy, with on campus bookings opening very soon. For all the information please visit 2023 Flu program.
Professional Staff Development Scholarships Scheme
Applications are open for Professional Staff Development Scholarship (PSDS) scheme. The University will fund 40 scholarships for eligible professional staff at HEO 2-9 based on the criteria and themes identified for the year. Applications close on Friday 21 April at 5 pm.

Academic Promotion
Academic staff wishing to apply for promotion to Level B or Level C, are now invited to submit their applications online by Monday 29 May, 5 pm. To apply and for further information. An information session for all academics applying for promotion to level B, level C or level D will be held on Thursday 30 March, 12–2.30 pm. Online via Zoom.
Contractor or contingent worker
Staff engaging external parties to provide paid services must seek compliance advice about the engagement type prior to work commencing. The HR Contractor Management website has comprehensive guidelines with links to the Contractor assessment forms or contact the HR Service Centre.
Pay Equity Report 2023
The University commits to annual monitoring and reporting on pay equity. The reporting framework consists of an annual report to the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive, University Council (through the People and Culture Committee); and a summary report to staff. The Pay Equity Report 2023 is now available to all staff.
Special Studies Program
Human Resources is currently reviewing the Special Studies Program (SSP) procedure ahead of this year’s process taking place. A draft procedure will be released for consultation and feedback in the coming weeks. We are committed to calling for 2024 SSP applications in 2023, however the application open date will most likely be delayed this year.
