Unix shell and command line basics

The Unix environment is incredibly powerful but quite daunting to the newcomer. Command line confidence unlocks powerful computing resources beyond the desktop, including virtual machines and High Performance Computing. This training will help demystify Unix as you get to work running programs and writing scripts on the command line. Friday 24 October, 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. Online. Register.

Getting started with HPC using Slurm

High-performance computing allows you to accomplish your analysis faster by using many parallel CPUs and huge amounts of memory simultaneously. This online training provides a hands-on introduction to running software on HPC infrastructure using Slurm. Thursday 30 to Friday 31 October, 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. Online. Register.

Nominations open for the Tony McMurtrie Award for Academic Integrity

Nominations are now open for the Tony McMurtrie Award for Academic Integrity. This award recognises the work of University staff who put academic integrity into action, through education and/or implementation. Nominations are submitted via the webform. 116th Rhodes Scholar-elect

Jessica March has been named the University of Adelaide's 116th Rhodes Scholar-elect at a ceremony at Government House in September. Ms March completed a Bachelor of Economics (Advanced) at the University in 2024, and is currently working as a paralegal for the Crown Counsel team within the South Australian Crown Solicitor's Office, while completing a Bachelor of Laws (Honours). Guidelines International Network Najoua Mlika-Cabanne award

Dr Danielle Pollock (School of Public Health) from Health Evidence Synthesis, Recommendations and Impact (HESRI) was the winner of the Najoua Mlika-Cabanne award for her contributions to evidence synthesis synthesis and guideline development methods alongside her work the Chair of the GIN ANZ Region at the recent Guidelines International Network conference held in Geneva.

2025-26 Maitri Scholarships and Fellowships Programs

The 2025-26 Maitri Fellowships and Scholarships programs are now open. The Fellowship program supports researchers to undertake secondments with Australian and Indian organisations to enhance public discourse on bilateral, economic and broader geostrategic relationships. The Scholarships program helps high-performing Indian scholars complete tertiary studies in STEM-related fields at Australian universities. Further information.

2025-26 Maitri Grant Program

The 2025-26 Maitri Grant program is now open and has been expanded with over $5 million available to support projects that will strengthen the Australia-India relationship in new and innovative ways across a number of sectors.
