Annual teaching awards program

The University's annual teaching awards program provides an opportunity to celebrate the innovative and sustained ways that both academic and professional staff engage students to learn. Applications will open soon for the Stephen Cole the Elder Award for Excellence, and Commendations for the Enhancement of and Innovation in Student Learning. More information.

North Terrace Fitness Hub opening

The new Fitness Hub on Level 4, Union House at the North Terrace campus will open on Monday 6 May. The new gym will feature a dedicated group fitness studio and state-of-the-art recovery amenities including ice baths and compression boots. The Level 5 Fitness Hub will be closed from Thursday 2 May to Sunday 5 May. More information.

Professional Learning - Write effective multiple-choice quizzes with AI-assistance

In this workshop, you will be supported to effectively design multiple-choice quizzes that assess student learning and give you meaningful insights into their misconceptions. We will also demonstrate how to use generative-AI tools to efficiently draft questions and responses, ready for fact-checking and refinement. Thursday 16 May, 2–3 pm. Online.

Professional Learning - Design multimedia for teaching and learning

Use media including images, videos, animations, and interactives to enhance your course design and improve student learning. This interactive session explores the intricate balance between information presentation and cognitive capacity, providing educators with essential strategies to enhance multimedia instructional materials. You will be supported to create engaging, impactful learning experiences for students. Thursday 23 May, 11 am to 12.30 pm. Online.

Wellbeing Grants Program – Applications now open

The student health and wellbeing team is now accepting applications for grants up to $1000. Students and staff are encouraged to apply and run an initiative or event that promotes student wellbeing in one or more of the following eight wellbeing areas: cultural, financial, physical, social, emotional, workplace, intellectual and environmental wellbeing. Cultural Intelligence (CQ)

Apply for this 5-week extra-curricular program for domestic and international students. Global IQ Connect teaches cultural intelligence, a skill set highly valued by employers. International Fellows Awards recipients

Recipients of Round 1 of the 2024 University of Adelaide International Fellows Award have been selected, and we are looking forward to welcoming Professor Harald Giessen (University of Stuttgart), Professor Anne Goriely (University of Oxford) and Professor Mark Stephens (University of Glasgow) to our campuses.
