My Easter

From the outset, my Easter 2020 was set to be a little bit...different.

What's my usual Easter? Well, I've never done anything too intense. There's never been as much fanfare and anticipation as compared to Christmas.

I really like celebrating Easter though. I think doing something to mark these occasions is really important. Sharing chocolate, hot-cross buns, and stories with people. I like doing a little something to mark the occasion.

It was a little bit depressing to think of 2020 Easter. I imagined myself sitting alone and sucking on easter eggs and that being the full extent of my celebration. I felt like my Easter was going to be robbed from me.

There are pros and cons to being confined at home due to the corona virus. One of the big cons I've found is that with everything I used to do being cancelled, my week is barren of any kind of face to face gathering. Seeing people online is something, but it's not the same.

However, I was resolved to do SOMETHING for Easter. So I ended up in a small, four person gathering. We played some board games, and we hid easter eggs, and had some really amazing food. For that day, things seemed just a little bit more normal. I felt reassured that I can still connect with other people. Because after all, Easter's about hope, and I feel a little bit more of that now.
